Creativity is key to bettering lives
Lisa Fraser is an innovator. She is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards including the Industrial Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) in 2012, the Carter Wosk BC Creative Achievement award in 2013, and in 2014, she was named one of BC Business Magazine’s Top 30 under 30. Lisa also holds Bachelor of Design degree in Industrial Design from Emily Carr University, completed in 2010.
Lisa’s graduate project at Emily Carr was born of a desire to help the children with special needs she was teaching to swim. Her insights have evolved into a business called Squeezease Therapy, Inc. The Snug Vest products she creates apply deep pressure therapy techniques to alleviate distress associated with conditions like autism, ADHD and sensory disorders. These specially-designed jackets and vests inflate to provide pressure that feels like a hug, which is proven to calm and regulate.
