Creativity is connecting hearts and minds
From Montreal to Vancouver, Los Angeles, and around the world, Etienne Zack has risen to fame in the art world as a critically acclaimed painter with a devoted community of followers. In his words, “Painting is a solitary thing…but at the same time, you want to see what’s happening and support the things you like and the people you’re close to, or whose work is of interest to you.”
A graduate of Emily Carr University’s fine arts program, Etienne Zack connects with his audience through his thought-provoking, visual exploration and social commentary. A recent feature article by Robin Laurence in the Georgia Straight points out that his artwork is inspired by wide-ranging, scholarly interests that include everything from science and history to philosophy, cultural theory, and astronomy. She goes on to point out that his paintings, collected in the United States, Europe and extensively in Canada, reflect on everything from war to pop culture, addressing “the machine age and the information age and the relationship between photography and painting.” Etienne’s artwork can been seen in Vancouver at Equinox Gallery (next door to the site on which Emily Carr University will build its new Great Northern Way Campus) and at various galleries around the world.
