Orientation

To assist with the student transition to Emily Carr, the Foundation Department and Student Services have organized a brief orientation session for all foundation students. Students will be contacted by email in order to be scheduled to attend a series of events on either Tuesday, September 2, or Wednesday, September 3.

Orientation will begin in the lecture theatre where students will be introduced to key administrative staff and faculty. This will be followed by an information fair where students will visit various tables and learn about some of the services the university offers. A short tour of the campus and a fun workshop will follow.

Everyone is invited to celebrate the end of orientation with a BBQ and social on Wednesday, September 3 beginning at 1pm. Students are welcome to meet at the False Creek Community Centre and join in a game of dodgeball, toss a frisbee, or picnic on the grass while getting to meet their new classmates.

Orientation is an excellent opportunity to learn about Emily Carr and to meet other new students. More details will follow, so be sure to check your Emily Carr email regularly!

Lockers

All current Emily Carr students who wish to have a locker on campus will claim and register a locker through the Facilities Office, at a charge of $15 per semester.

Emily Carr Ambassadors (ECAs)

New incoming students will be contacted by an Emily Carr Ambassador (ECA) in the spring. The Ambassadors will serve as a contact for new students over the summer months and will be able to answer questions that they may have about life in Vancouver and at Emily Carr. This is a great opportunity to connect with someone who not only knows the university inside and out, but who, not so long ago, was getting ready to become a student.
