insideEC

The insideEC portal is where all incoming students register for courses, check grades, view their program evaluation, enter a change of address and/or new personal e-mail address, and pay tuition. It’s important to become familiar with the website before registration.

If you have not yet logged in to insideEC, please refer to the information that was enclosed with your acceptance letter as it includes all of the necessary information required to access your account.

You may also want to check out the insideEC FAQ page on the Emily Carr website. It will walk you through logging in with your username and password, as well as searching and registering for courses. www.ecuad.ca/studentservices/register/faq

For help with insideEC, please contact: reghelp@ecuad.ca

Please note that insideEC and ECU webmail are separate accounts. They both have the same username and initially the passwords are the same but changing the password on one account does not change it on the other.

ECU e-mail

As a new Emily Carr student, you have been assigned an ECU webmail account. Please note that we will be using this e-mail address for all communications, so it’s important that you activate it as soon as possible and check it on a regular basis.

If you have not yet activated your ECU webmail, please refer to the information that was enclosed with your acceptance letter as it includes all of the necessary information required to set up your account, including your designated login and password.

You may also want to check out the Information Technology FAQ page on the Emily Carr website. That’s where you’ll find a link for how to access Emily Carr e-mail.

Fall Registration

Foundation Students (Year 1)

foundation600

In August, you will be assigned and registered for your Fall 2014 courses by the Academic Advisors in Student Services. Your fall semester schedule will include an Academic Core (6 credits), which is a blend of Art History, Visual Culture, and English Literature and Composition. Your studio courses will include a Creative Processes class (3 credits), and a Core Studio class (6 credits) with a focus on either Design, Media or Visual Arts. You will also be registered for the Foundation Forum which is a weekly series of lectures with topics that include art, media, design, and university program information.

Foundation students will have until August 1 to register their first and second choices for their Core Studio class. Keep an eye on your ECU webmail for more information.

In the spring semester, you will self-register in an Academic Core (6 credits), a Core Studio class (6 credits, different from the one you took in the fall) and a Foundation Studio elective (3 credits). The university will hold registration workshops to show you how to register through insideEC and to answer any questions you may have about your course requirements.

Transfer Students (Years 2 or 3)

You will register for your fall semester courses through insideEC in June. Your registration date will be based on your program and year level. The program evaluation function on insideEC, listed under the Academic Planning heading, will show you all the courses required for your degree and which courses you have completed (either through transfer credit or through courses taken at Emily Carr).

Check out the insideEC FAQ page on the Emily Carr website – it will walk you through logging in with your username and password, as well as searching and registering for courses.

In mid-May, an e-mail will be sent to your ECU webmail with information around registration dates and deadlines.
